About ELLIS Unit Freiburg
The ELLIS Unit Freiburg is a local hub of the ELLIS Society, a pan-European AI network of excellence. Our focus is to advance autonomous learning and strengthen European collaborations at the intersection of efficient learning, trustworthy machine learning, and physical AI. We bring together a team of internationally leading researchers and work closely with industry partners to develop AI that is robust, resource-aware, and reliable in the real world. Building on Freiburg’s long-standing tradition of collaboration and excellence in AI, the unit fosters interdisciplinary research and joint projects both within Freiburg and across the ELLIS network.
