What is ELLIS?
ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems) is a pan-European AI network of excellence which aims to secure lasting international leadership of AI made in Europe by connecting top researchers in this field and by creating a multi-centric AI research laboratory. Part of ELLIS is the ELLIS PhD & Postdoc Program, which pairs outstanding students with leading researchers across Europe in machine learning, AI and related fields, and offers international exchanges, joint supervision, and a vibrant research community.
ELLIS Research Programs bring together academics at regular meetings throughout Europe to promote free exchange of ideas and help create a European community of top AI researchers to retain and attract talent. Together, they stand up for European interests and generate high international visibility.
Members of our unit are part of the following ELLIS Research Programs:
1. Machine Learning and Computer Vision
2. Robust Machine Learning
The ELLIS Network
The ELLIS network currently spans 42 ELLIS units, 1 associated unit and 2 institutes across Europe. These sites serve as hubs for world-class AI research, bringing together top researchers and fostering collaborations with industry.
